This position is for a designer who will be creating graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs for both digital and print such as website/social media graphics, email marketing, branding or logos, packaging, ads, or signage and displays. They will also be assisting the Creative Director with execution of business-driven design decisions and marketing objectives including new product mockups and 3-D renderings. Lastly, they will be assisting the Company Owner in website design improvements and UX/UI trends. The ability to think “big picture" and how a holistic design approach contributes to the strength and success of the brand in all advertising spaces (retail, wholesale, digital) is very necessary to this position. Strong illustration skills and understanding of typography and layout are a must. May use a variety of mediums to achieve artistic or decorative effects.
In this position, you will be working with a direct report to the Creative Director to conceptualize designs targeting all aspects of Get Back Necklaces' business. You will be involved with helping develop thoughtful design/business decisions. You will gain an understanding for Get Back’s casual, vibrant, modern-with-a-hint-of-retro branding and be the main contributor in developing innovative new methods and designs ensuring the brand's high quality standards and ahead-of-the-curve mindset.
-Connect with the Creative Director and Company Owner to define project design requirements.
-Develop campaign-centric visual concepts that can be translated into multi-format layouts from start to finish.
-Understand and apply UX/UI practices.
-Understand and develop business decisions that positively affect the design process.
-Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the brand guidelines.
-Create 3-D renderings for product development.
-Illustrate and design original artwork that can be translated into a use on web and print formats.
-Suggest and apply image improvements, e.g. creating gradients, adjusting colors, building additional content to imagery, and organizing layers.
-Create and work off of a creative brief and think critically to execute project requirements.
-Meet deadlines to ensure timely publications.
-Collaborate with the Creative Director on copywriting to ensure messaging is on brand.
-Keep up-to-date with trends in graphic design techniques and software.
-Communicate with the web development team to apply wireframes and site improvements.
-Communicate with the email marketing team to apply email design improvements.
-3-5 years experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role
-BS degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or relevant field
-Portfolio of completed graphic designs and creative projects
-Advanced, hands-on experience with graphic design and layout software, image editing tools (e.g. Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
-Excellent eye for design and color
-Understanding and application of UX/UI practices are a must
-Ability to create 3-D product renderings is a plus
-Strong illustrative and typographic skills are a must
-Strong knowledge of the printing process and preflighting tools (e.g. Adobe InDesign)
-Understanding of translating various art mediums into a digital format
-Photo retouching experience is necessary
-Strong foundational design and layout skills are a must
-Packaging design skills and understanding of how to work with dielines are a plus
-Strong writing, editing and grammar abilities
-Excellent organization and follow-through skills
-An ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
-Creativity skills with excellent attention to detail
-Excellent ability to work independently, possess critical thinking skills, and make strong decisions with little supervision
-Ability to identify complex problems, review/evaluate related information to develop multiple options and implement solutions

-In-house designer experience rather than solely freelance is a plus

Office environment: Utilizing a computer over 75% of time; Utilizing an office desk – sitting, reading, listening, or speaking with the ability to move intermittently throughout the day.

-May require occasional travel with use of valid license/U.S. Passport
