 Celebrating 28 Years of GBN

Summer started a lil early this year (or do we say that every year??).

Between celebrating another year around the sun with all of you (our 28th birthday…like WHAT!! 28 years of Get Back Necklaces) and easing into that early summer feeling, this month really reminded us why it’s always been one of our favorites. May has just been sooo good to us. ☀️

Before we bring our bday month to a close and get too far into summer mode, it felt right to take ya back to the early days of GB and share a little inside scoop into our bday celebration.

The Early Days of GB <3

It all started in a garage in Escondido back in the 90’s. In the early days, our founder had a simple goal: to bring back the rad tradition of St. Christopher Surf Medallions from the 60s + 70s. After his passing in 2013, his son Nick stepped in at just 23 to carry the vision forward. Keeping the dream alive and running Get Back with the same heart his dad did, right here in Oceanside, CA. We're still a small team doing things the old-school way: designing, testing and building a brand that brings people together. A crew of like-minded humans chasin’ the good stuff<3

With every necklace you’re carrying a little piece of that story, past + present. The tradition continues + we’re glad you’re a part of it 🤍 

BDAY Shenanigans

Every year, we try to level up our birthday celebrations, but this year? We took things straight to the beach—complete with a cake... obviously.

Instead of going with a standard design from the bakeshop, we decided to get a little crafty and decorate our dream cake ourselves using our Classic St. Christopher Surf medallions. It actually turned out super sweet, and we had the absolute best time getting creative with the photoshoot.

Okay, but if we're being honest, the real highlight of the day was our little sand-art experiment. Earlier that week, our team had brainstormed the idea of drawing out our birthday promo on the beach. In true GB chaotic fashion, I didn't realllyyy tell the models what exactly we were doing until we'd already made it to the beach.

When I handed them the rakes and told them they were about to etch a giant promo message into the sand, they were so surprised…but totally down! They made it look effortless and truly killed it. People kept walking by trying to guess what we were spelling out, and a few even asked if they could take a turn with the rake hahah.

🏄 Style Spotlight: 

• This month we’re highlighting our tried and true The “Classics” as we call them at the GBN HQ. Our vintage inspired traditional St. Christopher Surf Medallions on a silver ball chain. We’ve taken this style to manyyy new levels with some of our more recent collections (peep our new arrivals ICYMI :)), but we ALWAYS find ourselves gravitating back towards this original silhouette. 

It’s timeless, nostalgic, easy to wear, and honestly just feels the most Get Back. And judging by how often you guys keep coming back for them… it’s safe to say they’re your favorite too :)
